Post by djmac1964 »

A Cleveland-area couple is fighting in court to keep their home-based gun business from being deemed a zoning violation.

Oh man, I've used GunGalaxy/Paul for FFL transfers a few times before. He's a very good guy and if you had no idea of his "business" that is operated out of a MAYBE 150 square foot room of his house.

Gotcha, thanks, I did some searching after asking. Makes me wonder if this situation is consistent for Lyndhurst. Do they go after any and all businesses operated out of homes, or just this one? That's almost a rhetorical question on my part; have seen this happen elsewhere with either businesses or their owner that a town just doesn't like, it can be very personal and unfair.

Some years ago my town got a little carried away and passed an ordinance darn near outlawing garage and yard sales; all because they thought one lady was somehow getting away with murder. Stoooopid!

I'm surprised Lyndhurst would go to the trouble of prosecuting this, unless there is someone complaining. There have to be a lot of small businesses/contractors operating from homes in Lyndhurst.
Proudly causing more problems than I solve, since 1950.

If I remember correctly, Paul shared with me that a nearby absentee neighbor was selling their home, looked up their home's address on google maps and saw the nearby "Gun Galaxy" pin. Clicked on the pin and saw the array of firearms in the photo and started making a fuss. Something about decreased property value. Something along those lines, anyway.

Oh wow, I did not realize that this was happening. :x

I've also been a customer of Paul's wonderfully welcoming little home business for a while, now.

Paul is still around, but not doing retail sales. You can still use him as your FFL and have things shipped to him and he still has a thriving internet business, but I don't think you can just walk in and buy one from off his shelf these days.

I'm expecting the Brown Truck of Happiness to deliver a little bundle of joy to him later today for me.

^ Glad to hear that he's still going as a FFL and that his internet business is going strong! :)

It's excusable, once one passes 35 y/o the awareness starts to fade unnoticeably.

Carmen are all your friends interenet friends?
Sorry could'nt restrain myself from that opportunity

OK back on topic: there is a local fella around here that works out of his basement also & has for probably 30+yrs, great guy that will go out of his way & not give you guff about having to fax this or mail that to do whatever it is that you need to get the firearm or parts you want.
i would rather support local people they appreciate you more than continue to make the big box stores richer.
