I saw this on another forum. The article and video show a few different ways that a 3 year old can open a locked mini vault or similar storage container. Now if the 3 year old can do it, I'm sure the bad guy who breaks in when someone is not home can do it also.

Re: video - 3 year old opens locked gun cabinet
A few thoughts on this....
1) The three yeard old did not open any of the safes on his own. He was shown by his Dad, I doubt he could have figured out how to do it without assistance.
2) The stack-on type safes were opened by dropping them. While I agree this is unacceptable, had the safe been properly bolted down that method would not have worked. (If you do not bolt the safe to something then opening it really doesn't matter to a burgler - he will just pick it up and take it).
3) I have never been inpressed with the gun vault line of safes and this video does nothing to change that impression. At best they are a deterrent for a honest person who may be tempted to mess with a firearm laying out in the open.
4) If you want your firearm to be "really" secure then you will have to buy a "real" safe ($$$).

Looks to me like Forbes saw the Wired! story and decided to do one of their own.
Here is another recent thread on this topic: Kids Can Open Gun Safes With Straws and Paper Clips, Researc
I'd suggest you post the video/article link above in the other thread as well.
