I haven't read the case, but the headline says that the SCOTUS ruled that police need a warrant before attaching a GPS tracking device to a vehicle:

The funny part is that they did have a warrant but the warrant gave them 10 days to install the GPS on the vehicle in DC. They didn't install it until the 11th day, and they installed it while the vehicle was in Maryland, not in DC, so it wasn't covered by the warrant.

And the good thing is that SCOTUS sidestepped the defective warrant issue and actually answered the question before them.
