Greetings from Dayton

Post by missedtheapex »

Hi, everyone. My name is David and I'm a soon-to-be CCW permit holder from the Dayton suburbs. After talking about getting the permit for years, I finally decided a couple months ago to do something about it.

I'm new to CCW, but not new to firearms. I grew up around guns, and I've been plinking and putting holes in paper for years. I have a trusty Ruger P95 I've had since around 2000, and I recently picked up a Springfield XDs .45 as a carry pistol. I have a few long guns too.

My decision to start carrying wasn't prompted by any particular event, either personally or in the news. Rather, it's been a realization that bad things do happen, no matter how unlikely, and it's certainly better to not be caught unprepared. My ability to carry all the time will unfortunately be a bit hampered, particularly because I work in a location where it's not at all permissible. But I do intend to be ready to protect myself and my family whenever I'm able.

So hi, everyone. Looking forward to being a part of the community.

Welcome. I too have a P95, only use it now at the popup pistol matches at Camp Perry.

Welcome fellow new person! As I forgot to reply in time my new introduction thread was locked. I am from the Marysville area. Where do you hail from? I, much like most on this board, mirror your sentiments!
