Long time lurker,new member.

Post by Tru-Heathen »

Hello all, as it says I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to register .

Grew up around guns, and now in my sixth decade,I am in the process of obtaining my CHL. Had my training class last weekend & am sitting here filling out the application to hand in to the Hardin County Sheriff's Dept. for processing tomorrow morning.

As some may guess from my screen name & signature,I'm a follower of Asatru, the prechristian Northern European faith. (And that will be the extent of my conversation about that subject.)

Retired blue collar worker, motorcycle rider since 1974. Currently on my 7th H-D,a VRSCR ,the red headed step-child of the V-Rod line. Presently own a couple 22 rifles, a 1911/22 pistol, XDs45 & a Sig Sauer P220 Carry.

Or what menace meet on the road.

The only thing I've seen published was in the Lima News where he stated he'd wished that applicants were required to qualify with the gun they intended to carry. With respect to that, while that may or may not be a laudable idea,I find it undesirable.

I know my instrutor had nothing bad to say about him when asked. In my opinion, the citizens of Hardin County are well served by Sheriff Everhart.

Met your sheriff a couple of years ago. Seemed like an OK guy - we talked politics, not firearms.

Apologize for being rude - welcome to the forum. You can learn a great deal herein. Smart people with lots of knowledge post here.

And then there is me!

Sheriffs are like the higher level police officers many times - they stopped being cops, and started being politicians. You will find exceptions of course, but most I have encountered fit that mold.
