lurkers first post

Post by dougEfresh »

I've been a lurking on this site for about 2.5 years and finally decided to join.

I'm in Cuyahoga Falls and looking for a reputable gunsmith in the Akron area or SE suburbs of Cleveland.

I'm wanting to get my Grandfathers Mauser 98 stock (Nice walnut Monte Carlo) bedded as well as cutting the stock to add a recoil pad.

My neighbor recommended a guy by the name of Josh that worked out of the Gander Mountain in Twinsburg, but he's no longer there.I believe he had enough clients to go out on his own.

Any suggestions?

My cousin is a big fan of the place right down there on the river there in the falls but I don't know if they do that or anything about them. . I am sure there is someone good in Summit County.

But Welcome to posting.

Called Pro Armament on the river in the falls, they can do light gunsmith services, but not much beyond trigger jobs, scope mounting etc.

I did find in a search; Gary Ortiz and Bathells. can anyone comment on their work?
