Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

Hi all! I've been mining the riches from this forum for a bit now. So much helpful info on here. My CHL should be ready soon so I figured it was time to register in case I have any questions that come up that haven't been asked yet.

Re: NEW MEMBERS - Introduce yourself here
Hi, all!
I'm a few weeks away from my first handgun training session (from a friend who is an ex-cop and certified), and I stumbled on this site through a google search for Ohio Concealed Carry. My wife and I are both total handgun novices, though I won a few trophies in Biatholon in my teenage years.
For a variery of reasons, this year has been the year of focus on our family (we have a 7 year old daughter). Part of that is an increasing concern for the safety and well-being of our little clan, so my longstanding desire for handgun training will be satisfied this summer.
I'm planning on obtaining a concealed carry license, as will my wife.
I have a lot to learn - what gun to buy, methods of concealment, the ins and outs of cross-country travel while carrying (we are making a trip out west later this fall), but the biggest thing is the psychological issues of defending yourself. In my several days of reading on this site and others, I'm struck with the reality of what I am pursuing. This is not something to be taken lightly. I'm excited, but somewhat frightened, too.
Back to lurking now, trying to figure out the jargon I see all over this board!

Well said! Just had a humorous dialogue with one of those geez--uh, gents, yesterday. Not sure if this guy was reading from a teleprompter or what, he sure couldn't go "off-script" to carry on a conversation. Oh well he was pleasant enough.pirateguy191 wrote:Carmen's like OFCC's equivalent to the Walmart greeter guy.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

Welcome, Ben! I'm new here myself - my CHL class is Aug 8th, and I'm still definitely in the learning stage.
There's lots of great information on this forum - keep reading, keep learning.
