28" Snowblower with E;lectric Start, Power Drive
This is a Sears Craftsman 28" Dual-Stage Snowblower with 250 cc B&S engine with 11.50 ft-lbs torque. electric and pull start, power drive and turn with light. Model 247.88999 / 31AHSUTG799.
This was bought new 1-28-09 by another forum member ($929.99 retail price), who used it a few times and decided to move to a lawn tractor plow. I bought it from him in January 2010. I've done annual maintenance, including oil changes with Mobil 1 (yes, I am that uptight...I use gas stabilizer too), and I have never had any problems with this unit and everything works as it should. It has always started with one pull, even below zero or after sitting the summer. The only modification is that I unplugged the key system...if the key system is important, you just plug back in one wire. This sale includes the clean out tool, manual, the electric start extension cord, the key, a spare auger belt, spare drive belt and a mostly full gas tank.
This snowblower is very strong, I've never bogged down here in the snow belt. I see Sears now carries smaller engine snowblowers..my neighbor has one and this unit outperforms his newer one. My driveway and sidewalk are pretty small, maybe 15 minutes of work, so I don't have a lot of hours on the machine. The only negative is a little surface rust on untreated metal or where there are a few chips. I'd planned to run this for a long time, but I'm planning a move and won't need this any longer.
I don't have a car big enough to carry this item, so it would be pick up in the Solon area. $450

That is a nice unit. If I didn't already have 3, I would snap this one up!

My condo community would hate and love me if I had that. I'd have my driveway and a path from my front door to the mailboxes done every time it snowed. Useless homeowners association doesn't know how to remove snow.

I just changed the oil this past weekend, and did a lubrication service.

Unfortunately, this is kind of like selling home air-conditioning in December, a motorcycle in November, a furnace in June, or a deer stand in February.

Re: 28" Snowblower with E;lectric Start, Power Drive
Mmmmmm....I bought my used snow blower in June a few years ago.
One of the best deals I've received.
My old one died in the middle of a very bad winter. I wasn't going to pay prime price.
If Senior Glock was on his game, he'd be shouting from the roof tops of the impending White Death that's forecast to drop...1-3" tomorrow.

Somewhat....we usually get a solid snow storm up here in the Great White North during April. But we are closing in on May, and then I do fully agree with you....the blower heads to the barn for storage, for sale in the fall.BobK wrote:Unfortunately, this is kind of like selling home air-conditioning in December, a motorcycle in November, a furnace in June, or a deer stand in February.

Those 2015 models are rubbish, I tell you.....little motors and built to a price. Not like the old days. When these were built to move snow. When we walked uphill to school both ways.
And think, you didn't have to store it all summer!

Re: 28" Snowblower with E;lectric Start, Power Drive
I'd but it but I live in a Condo where my snow is removed.
Come the 1st sizeable snow some one will say where did I see a Snow Blower For Sale.
