SB 281: Grant FFL right to refuse to sell firearm

Post by rickt »

S. B. No. 281 - Senators Hoagland, Eklund.
Cosponsors: Senators Terhar, Uecker, Williams.

To amend section 2923.25 of the Revised Code to expressly grant federally licensed firearms dealers the right to refuse to sell or transfer a firearm to any person and to provide a dealer who asserts that right with immunity from civil liability for any injury, death, or loss that allegedly was caused by, resulted from, or was related to the refusal.

...thought they already could? Thats one of the arguments I heard (appeasers statements) that D**** and W***M**** could not sell to whomever they wanted, and therefore their new activism policies pointed towards 18-20.999 year olds wasn't illegal

Speaking of appeasers

The sponsors are all (R), as well as 95% of the co-sponsors ( :?: )

They already have an obligation to do that.

They already do have the right to do so, what this does (beyond clarifying that right) is to give the FFL immunity from civil liability as a result of anything that happens because of them exercising that right.

Maybe we should pass a similar law for wedding cake bakers.

Except I don't think we should be joking and definitely not limiting it to bakers. Some stuff is just plain stupid and they get away with wrapping it in "diversity".

I think I figured out a possibility why this is happening. Somewhere on the forums, someone cited a valid ORC whereas stores can not stop a sale to under 21.Stores, having made their ''big statement'' , now are facing potential lawsuits, run to the legislature for a law to protect them as constituents 8)

In any event...you guessed it :) ....assigned to committee
