To amend section 2923.25 of the Revised Code to require a 72-hour waiting period between the purchase and delivery of firearms and to impose a fine for violating this requirement.

I suppose that's one way to shut down gun show sales and make purchasing a firearm much less convenient. Of course statistics showing a waiting period doesn't actually do anything except inconvenience lawful citizens is besides the point.

City of Columbus had a permit system, which entailed a 7 day wait to get the permit.

People just bought their firearms outside of the city limits while that was in effect. All it really did at the time was keep most FFLs outside of the city limits - thus why Vance's on Cleveland Ave. (in Clinton township) was immensely popular.


Anyone wait on a NICS check lately? That is enough time to cool off - I have seen those go upon an hour (sometimes more) lately.
