Senators recommend anti-gun attorney for federal judge

Post by rickt »

There was a brief item in the Plain Dealer about this. Basically, DeWine and Voinovich recommended Michael Barrett for a federal judge position. Barrett was co-counsel in the Cincinnati vs gun manufacturers lawsuit.

I can't find the story on cleveland.com, so I can't post a link.

However, here is a DeWine press release:

and a reference to the Cincinnati lawsuit with his name listed:

Just because a lawyer is involved in a case does not mean that is reflective of his politics. Lawyers take the cases they get. After Saddam was captured they gave him medical attention. Should we lock up the Army doctor who did that exam on Gitmo as a terrorist?

Ah, but taken all together one can make certain logical inferences.

1. anti-gun lawsuit involvement
2. DeWine
3. Voinovich

My conclusion? Anti-gun weenie. I could be wrong...
Total repeal of ALL firearms/weapons laws at the local, state and federal levels. Period. Wipe the slate clean.

Then somebody should tell the NRA since the article mentioned it was the NRA that brought this up.

All well and good, but the same could be said about any number of prominent folks who are quite proactive in attempting to deny me my right to self-defense.

Elitism, like Rosie O'donnel who thinks no one should have guns....except her bodyguards and herself.

The city attorney who writes and defends Toledo's anti-gun laws is a shooter. He shoots high power rifle matches at Camp Perry (or at least he used to...). I frankly consider this sort of thing to be hypocrisy.

Tom; He probably sees himself as a member of the "ruling" class, the laws he writes aren't meant for him. "Let them eat cake"
