Petro Courage, Walsh Cowardice

Post by Shadow »

I can say Jim Petro earned my vote with this one.

His courageous stand in opposing Summit County prosecutor's office is commendable.

The Summit County prosecutor's conduct in the Elkins case was immoral, reprehensible and inexcusable; a clearly CRIMINAL violation of her oath, an outrageous attempt to cover up incompetence at the expense of an innocent man.

I could have just cried when I read the following PDF on the Summit county prosecutor's justification of their actions. It was a sick and horrible attempt, using a completely irrational argument, to further torment a man and his family.

I think after you read some of the information coming out about this case, you'll agree that the Summit County Prosecutor is not to be trusted and exhibits an attitude that alienates justice and tars mercy with the brush of arrogance.

To Walsh, contempt.

To Petro, well done.

There is a chunk of Shakespear that Petro, knowlingly or not, has fulfilled...

The quality of mercy is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath: it is twice blest;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes:
'Tis mightiest in the mightiest: it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown;
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway;
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice.

...I don't often credit politicos; this one deserves exception.

Sounds like we have something in common.

We arrive at conclusions based on what we SEE a politician DO. Decisive action on the part of any politician is spotty at best. When you see one do it several times....for a single cause......it gets you to thinking....particuarly when it's a cause you favor.

Mr. Petro has consistently acted on behalf of the rights of Ohio's lawful gun owners. He stands out as a proponent of our Second Amendment rights.

I arrived at my conclusions about him some time ago.

At the Party in the park this summer, Petro made an unprompted comment prior to the speeches that struck a chord with me.

He said he like to drop the handgun own/carry age to 18.

Since I have a daughter that will be heading to college all too soon, I totally agree with this.

Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

Mr. Petro has earned a lot of respect from me with this episode. I'm still backing Blackwell.

I think Ken Blackwell is a pretty good person.

When I made my comment about Petro getting my vote I was using that as a metaphor, hyperbole, if you will, not that I WOULDN'T, vote for him.

It is good to see a person that understands that what the people cry out for is more justice, not more law.

I hope Walsh/Kovach take that to heart.

Blackwell and Petro, a win-win situation...
