Butler County- not good

I had an appointment on May 14 with Butler Co SO for my 3rd renewal. They send you your new license in a SASE, so I figured if they mailed it out on the 45th day, it might take a couple days to get to me. It is day 51, still no license. The 30 day grace period on my now expired license ends today. Too late to call today, tomorrow is a holiday. Guess I'll shoot them an e-mail and try to find out what is up.
Last time I renewed with Montgomery County. Hadn't received my renewal after 45 days and contacted them, was told they had 45 "business days"- and didn't get the call to pick it up until day 60. Again, the 30 day grace period on my old CPL had expired, and I couldn't carry for a couple weeks.
I'm jealous of all the people in threads about other counties that walk out of their appointments with new CPL in hand or within a day or two. I don't understand the vast difference in service between counties. I know Sheriff Jones (Butler Co) is very pro 2nd Amendment, so I don't think he's telling his people to slow walk the applications.
