Application turned in in Warren county

Post by Bama.45 »

I went today and turned my CHL application in today at the Warren county Sheriffs dept. The guy I talked to said it had been a quick process so far recently..I guess they check your S.S number before you go..When I called to set up my appt they asked for my name and S.S. number..The guy said that what he had seen in my background report, I was good to go..But have to wait for the FBI check..I guess that is due to me not being an Ohio resident for 5 years?
"Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home
Let me die in a pile of empty brass."
Amen

From what I saw, they were getting results in pretty quickly..Like the next day from the FBI website..He told me the 45 day deal is the standard book answer..That it could take that long, but in most cases unless there is something that the FBI background check picks up, it is a lot faster..They mail your CHL to you now in Warren county.

Correct - if you haven't been an Ohio resident for 5 years at the time you apply, they have to run an FBI check. And you get to pay extra, too!

How long did you wait for an appointment? Warren County has always been fast on processing but often had 3-month waits to get in to apply. If they would eliminate the appointment process they would be excellent.
