head and shoulders
Where can I get photo taken for my permit. I went to the post office for my passport a few years ago, but I do not remember if they only do passports.

Re: head and shoulders
Lots of choices. I've had a friend take one, next time it was Walgreen's. This last renewal I sat down in one of those self serve photo booths in the aisle of a mall near the sheriff's office. Four quarters, four pictures about the right size for the sheriff's office file. Since the picture you provide is not the one put on the license ( S.O. does that in most all counties, I think), the one you bring in isn't terribly critical with regards to size or overall quality, etc..
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I took my own, cropped it and printed it on normal paper. No issues.Duke of Advil wrote:Maybe I can get Barry O to take one with me too. that may speed things up a bit on the filing.pirateguy191 wrote:Selfie.

Re: head and shoulders
2" x 2", head and shoulders, the same as a passport photo. Most sheriffs are not too critical about the photo, although I remember hearing about one who did not accept self printed photos back in 2004 when we were just starting out. I don't remember which county it was.Duke of Advil wrote: if doing my own, what size does it need to be?

11x17 full color.
ORC doesn't specify size but most use passport size which is 2"x2."

The ORC may not specify, but the sheriffs usually do. Here is the list of what to bring, from the Warren County Sheriff:JediSkipdogg wrote:11x17 full color.

I have seen it on other sheriffs' sites as well.Applicant must bring the following items on the day of the appointment:
New Applications
Driver's License or Ohio State ID
Completed Application
Training Certificate
2" x 2" Passport-type Photo
Fee - Cash or Money Order (exact amount only)
Stamped, Self-Addressed Envelope

My local Sheriff's Department took the photo .

Re: head and shoulders
But you still need to submit one with the application. The one your submit stays with the application, the one the Sheriff takes is the one printed on your card. No clue what the logic is behind requiring us to submit one, but it's on the application.Tru-Heathen wrote:My local Sheriff's Department took the photo .

Re: head and shoulders
Is this true for renewals only? Because the only photo that was used in my initial application was the one that they took. Perhaps the Deputy took 2 photos.
