Holmes co. wants me to mail them my old lic ?

Post by 3FULLMAGS+1 »

Thought I'd put this right here....

I just went to Holmes Co. to renew, (I've went there since my first lic and every renewal), and they will mail them to you if you give them a self addressed and stamped envelope....(I guess they can't afford to mail them to ya without your stamp, even though you have to pay $50 for the lic. ) .

Now it seems they want me to mail my old lic. back to them when mine arrives !

The officer didn't mention whether they would be sending "me" a self-addressed envelope.

Now the question to all of you....

How many of you would bother to send your old lic. back? .......(I'm not).

If they provide a SASE then OK, but otherwise no, I'll just shred the old one when the new one arrives.

The old (expired) license?
1. You see, there was this unfortunate boating accident.....
2. Well, I had a small fire in my office last week and ......
3. Sure, send me a self addressed stamped envelope.....
4. Nope.

Pick one. Or come up with your own.

"Just send a deputy out here to pick it up, okay?" Going off memory about Holmes County regarding population and ruralness, but I don't think they have many road patrol vehicles/personnel.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

There is no legal requirement to send it back.
In fact, that old license is proof of your training .

Goly gee....so many recommendations, which one do I pick ?!

Holmes is also the co. that told me I had to come in and fill out a form to notify them of my new address because notifying by ph. call wasn't good enough.

Oooops, I "forgot" to do "that" also .

On a serious not.....This is just another reason to get rid of licensing. LE are just making up crap, (more hoops for us to jump through to get a lic.). smh.

Or at least put some teeth into the law so that when they pull {inappropriate language} out of their butt that they (not the department or the county) get smacked upside the head personally.
