Sharon Woods Lakeside Lodge

Post by mzimov »

I just returned from an event at Sharon Woods. The Lakeside Lodge facility was posted. This is just a rented shelter with indoor restrooms, with no permanent employee assignments. Why would it be posted?

Hmm. Much time was spent on education of Hamilton County park honchos in the past. Sounds like backsliding (maybe not deliberate) by new bosses.

[Sigh] I'll try to communicate with them next week. Between all their parks they have many such picnic shelters.

Here's the response I received:

Thank you for the information about the sign posting at Lakeside Lodge. Your e-mail has prompted our department to review our gun-free zones and we are currently inventorying all of our buildings to make sure the buildings are properly posted and in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code.

Sincerely,
Captain Richard Spreckelmeier

I think he needs a letter from the OFCC. That may get the "inventory" going a little faster.

Sorry I haven't gotten out for a look see and visit. My plan was to drive around Winton Woods instead of Sharon, as the district HQ is located there. No sense talking to people unless they can affect changes themselves. As I've mentioned before a grumpy old guy once gave me the advice: "If you don't like the music go talk to the organ grinder, NOT the @#$%*& monkey!"
