Miami County Fair may not be posted but they still have the stupid rule in their rule book, MIAMI CO. AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY RULES & REGULATIONS (Link To PDF)
29. It is illegal to carry a firearm, deadly weapon, or dangerous ordnance anywhere on these premises. No person shall knowingly possess, have under the person's control, convey, or attempt to convey a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance onto these premises.

Is there a law against carrying at a fair?

Most are government owned, directly or indirectly. Hence the "buildings" are off limits to concealed carry. Some places post the entire property right at the gates. The fair boards have come to hate us..some of them anyway.

Not to sound like a radical "gun nutter" but banning otherwise lawful carry from government buildings seems like banning Blacks from government buildings. It's an inverse of logic.

As soon as you can prove to the legislators that your carrying of a firearm is not a choice, that logic might start to work.

Other states have allowed carry in .gov buildings and have had no ill effects.

Ohio's lawmakers aren't ready for that...yet.

Religion and marriage are choices, I wonder how the lawmakers feel about banning those....

Bill Clinton DID ban marriage, at least he did for certain classes of people.

Or do you not remember DOMA, the Defense Of Marriage Act?

And while no politician is going to risk suggesting banning a religion, bills banning Shariah law HAVE been passed in several states and a bill to ban the Muslim Brotherhood is in Congress right now.

We're talking about banning people from government buildings, not banning activities.

Gays were never banned from government buildings, even if they were legally married by some loophole while DOMA was in force.

Muslims were never banned from government buildings, even if they believed in Sharia law.

It's not about banning PEOPLE from government buildings, it's about banning FIREARMS from government buildings.

And we're fighting to get the laws changed. I hope we can count on you coming down to the statehouse for our lobbying days where we talk face to face with as many legislators as we can schedule.
