County Library
Have a question, I was walking by my local branch of the county library and I noticed that there was a gun buster sign in the window. I was wondering if this was a possible violation of 9.68. If so I will gladly contact whomever need be and try to get it resolved.

Re: County Library
County library: Government building and government employees? If so, it is correctly posted.

Re: County Library
Why would it be a violation of 9.68? If it's run by the county, it's a government building. No carry allowed.

Re: County Library
The signage on the buildings of a government building are put there by law and are not a violation of R.C. 9.68.

There HAS been discussion about whether those signs are applicable to open carry, but the consensus is that they are.
I personally don't think so, but that's what everyone else thinks.

I also do not believe those signs apply to open carry. I also believe that there is a high probability that if this is tested in court it would result in case law that it does apply to OC. This is a situation that is better addressed through the legislature than thru the courts. IMHO. When it comes to your opinion versus the opinion of a Court of Appeals judge, we all know who wins.WestonDon wrote:I also do not believe those signs apply to open carry. This is also the reason that some of us have deemed it unwise to ask the Attorney General for an opinion.
