Akron Marathon

Howdy Folks,

Just saw this on Channel 5....

http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/news/local_ ... -on-course" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

While you may have to be searched, would you have to surrender your CCW firearm? This is out in public. I understand they want people to "feel safe" with the Boston Marathon bombing firmly in everyone's mind, but seems like this could be an attempt to pre-empt ORC 9.68 for "National Security Purposes". What say you?

In addition, backpacks are highly discouraged and all bags are subject to search in all race areas along the course.

Yeah,

I missed that. I know exactly WHY they're doing it. But again, how can you CCW in this environment? Without being harassed or arrested?
