Kind of difficult, Silver Lake is a residential area with little or no business area.

I think a stern warning letter from OFCC will do.

This is from their website:http://www.villageofsilverlake.com/index.php
The Village of Silver Lake is a beautiful community made up of tree-lined streets and gorgeous lakes located in Summit County and nestled between the cities of Cuyahoga Falls and Stow.

The Village of Silver Lake has a rich and colorful history. The Village began as an amusement park that included an airport and racetrack. At the height of its success, the park had 10,000 visitors a day. The park was sold in 1917 and subdivided for residential building. The Village was incorporated in 1918.

The Village is home to approximately 2,700 residents. Silver Lake Residents enjoy a multitude of educational, recreational, and cultural opportunities. Village residents can find quality academics at institutions such as Kent State University and the University of Akron; enjoy a stroll in the MetroParks; attend an Akron Aeros game; or take pleasure in listening to a musical event at Blossom Music Center.

We invite you to share in our wonderful history and take advantage of the many opportunities that await you. You will enjoy the tranquility and peacefulness that goes along with living in the Village of Silver Lake.

Silver Lake Village Hall
2961 Kent Road
Silver Lake, OH 44224

330.923.6965 (fax)

The next Council meeting will be held on
Monday, October 6, 2008,
at Silver Lake Village Hall.
They get their emergency services from Cuyahoga Falls and have a Police Department that is comprised of eight full-time officers (which includes the Chief of Police), three part-time officers, and three reserve officers.

Use of the lake itself is limited to residents and their guests.

We're not talking about a huge metro. area here. :)

Sounds more like a complete ban, open or concealed.
Ignorant or Stupid, I'm not sure which is worse. If someone were stupid, at least they'd have an excuse for all the dumb things they say.

Pass the Peace Pipe I need another hit

IANAL and neither are most people on this board, its just shows more with some than others.

There is a public park that ties into the metro parks trail in Silver Lake... It just so happens to be right next to the police station. How amusing is that. There is a baseball field there too among other things.

So everyone wear their retention holster and we can play some Open Carry baseball?

I'm still researching this one. I agree that 542.12 seems to completely prohibit the carrying of firearms, yet the city has kept the other ORC related statutes like CCW up to date. *scratches head* Since 549.12 is over 46 years old I wonder if it's a relic that has been overlooked as the other changes have been made over the years. Heck, it's only an M4 to carry on school property according to this section!

Does anybody know of any examples of where they have actually enforced this section recently? Are there any inappropriate signs in the parks?
