I would generally agree but not all get the round to hunt with. Granted, I wouldn't mind going for the 1500 yard kill (about max effectiveness of the round), just not sure I have the skill to do that. It's still a blast to shoot paper at 600 yards though and with the extra power the environment effects it less than say a 308.Pecker wrote:Words like "cost effective" really don't mean much in a round that is probably for big game hunting.
Let's see, flight to Montana? $700
Hunting guide? $1500
Lodging? $1000
300 Win mag round reloaded ? $0.75
In loading those rounds its because you've dialed in a round perfect or as close to perfect for your gun as you can manage. I don't think the dollars and cents factor in much.
When you have a shot on the elk of a life time, or the moose of a life time, do you really care that you saved compared to a $1.25 over a factory round?

I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

I don't think you'd want a roofing contractor to cater anythingSevens wrote:So, your company is offering to host a HUG meeting?

Well, it doesn't need to be FOOD. They could make us happy with extra range brass, big hunks of lead or a van full of nekkid dancing chicks, whatever the roofing contractors happen to have on hand.CMcLeish wrote:I don't think you'd want a roofing contractor to cater anything

Naked women would probably be available but the quality would not match quantity

Won't be an awesome video unless a chunk of groundhog manages to fly back and SPLAT on your hat or cheek.
