Casting challenge

Ok, for you guys that have been casting your own bullets... here is a challenge.

Could this be done with lead?

Don't know why is couldn't, but it would be a heavy piece!

I do not think so. Lead cast around 700 degrees, whereas aluminum is around 1200-1250 degrees. I would think the lead would cool too quickly before filling out the "mold". I can't imagine lead reaching an 18 inch depth.

Cool. Lots of people stressing over the dead fire ants; they're fools, they've never had an encounter with them. I was in Puerto Rico using a hand soil-auger to collect a sample and encountered a fire ant nest. They swarmed out so fast I couldn't get away from all of them. Witnesses said I did a pretty good Irish jig, and I'm no dancer.
