In the beginning of my reloading adventures seating and crimping were done in separate operations.
Since then I have fine tuned my seating die(s) to seat and crimp in one operation. Saves a lot of time doing seating and crimping in one operation. Once my dies are set up properly I tighten the set screw on the locking collar so that when I remove the die(s) they are set for the next time I need them. Rarely do I need to make adjustments to any of my dies. The exception is when switching from .38, to .357.
RCBS sells a spacer collar that is inserted onto the die (under the locknut) that is the correct space to go from 38 to 357 without setting the dies up again...assuming same bullet and crimp location.
Good to know... Thanks!
I'll have to pick one up.
