Built a reloading bench today.

With a ton of help of a friend of mine, we built my first loading bench today, in anticipation of press ever arriving.... nothing fancy, but solid as a rock, and some room to grow.

Looks nice.

I'd suggest you double the thickness of your bench top.

It's 3/4" right now, with double 2x4s around the edges, and multiple 2x4 cross supports. if it starts to flex or take too much of a beating, we will just change it to to some 2x6s run through a planer and laying together.

Nice! My bench construction is similar but the top is made of MDF on my bench. Haven't had a problem so far as far as flexing or anything, and it takes hammering with my old Lee Classic Loader just fine. My only complaint is that it is flush with the frame of the bench like yours so its not as easy to clamp small things down like my zip trim. I think if I were to do it again, I'd leave some overlap for the top so it was easier to use my smaller clamps on it.

I did leave 1.5" overlap on the sides everywhere but where the legs attach. It's not much, but should be enough to clamp something down in a pinch.

Very nice! I only have a store bought work bench with MDF on top, and I wish I had some more cabinet space for powder, books etc.
