I would like to thank everybody for their posts.
And also apologize for not getting back sooner.

Tuesday afternoon my sister, 52, had a pretty severe heart attack.
Believe it or not, she had her husband at a heart specialist when she had it, or she probably would not have made it.They found she had a 100% blockage in one artery and 80% in another.
So, with this crap weather I been taking Mom and Dad back and forth to the hospital, and I am exhausted.

Sure looks like I have a bunch of reading and learning to do.

Ya know, this really sucks.
First me last fall, then my mom, right befor the holidays, and now my sister.I guess when the [deleted -- TR] it splatters everywhere.
Sorry about the rant and the thread drift, guess I had to vent a little.

BTW, if ya think of it, say a little prayer for her.Looks like she's gonna need all the help she can get.

Thanks again everybody.

Going to a bushing die like the redding will cut the need to trim dramatically. I checked 2-3 mfg. of 223 dies...each of them sized the neck down .008" -.010" and back up .006" to .008"

Using a bushing die you can pick a bushing that sizes it down .003 to .004 then opens it back up .001 to .002...this makes expanding easier, and cuts stretching with mild loads to almost nil.

I do not mean to say that I do not trim, but it is well worth knowing what your goals and limits are, rather than blindly trimming the cases .03" under chamber length every time and thinking that if one gets .005" over trim to length it will blow your rifle up.

Bill,

A bushing die, neck sizing only, is NOT a die that should be used to reload for an AR!

They need something very close to full length resizing, though they usually DO NOT need a SB die.
