A Thank You
While out shopping for groceries today I had a fellow thank me for open carrying. He said I would like to thank you for what your doing as he glanced down at my firearm.
I tried to see if he was also carrying but could not see any signs that he was. Maybe he is just good at concealing

I have struggled with dyslexia my entire life. I know it's spelled wrong but thanks for pointing it out.

I wonder if he recognized you as an ordinary citizen open carrying, or whether he mistook you for a plain-clothes officer?

"...thank you for what you're doing..." makes it sound like he realized he was talking to a non-LEO open carrier.Curzyk wrote:I wonder if he recognized you as an ordinary citizen open carrying, or whether he mistook you for a plain-clothes officer?

I dunno... I get thanked for what I "do" from time to time while I'm in uniform. Seems to be happening more lately given what's been going on the news as well.MyWifeSaidYes wrote:"...thank you for what you're doing..." makes it sound like he realized he was talking to a non-LEO open carrier.

I haven't trimmed my beard for more than 19 months. I don't believe I look like a officer of any kind Maybe he thought I was captain caveman (off duty).Curzyk wrote:I wonder if he recognized you as an ordinary citizen open carrying, or whether he mistook you for a plain-clothes officer?

Hah! I've been doing that since 1991. But I caution people, not everyone can pull off that look. Have a misshaped skull for whatever reason? One that comes to a point? Or ears that stick out like Dumbo's? Then you need to find another solution. (Or just learn to live with hair loss)

I still have enough on top, but when push comes to shove, I'll be doing this.

This man does not exactly fit the Borsely method meme, but he is a biker arrested in the Waco shootings:
He also happens to be a retired San Antonio vice detective.

The article link has all 170 mugshots if anyone gives a hoot.He remained behind bars Wednesday in the McLennan County Jail on a charge of engaging in organize [sic] criminal activity. His bail, like the others, is set at $1 million.
