Open carry Bellbrook/Sugarcreek area

Open Carry is carrying a firearm unconcealed in Ohio. OC does not require a concealed handgun license, but the practice requires intimate knowledge of the law since there are places and situations where OC is prohibited but carrying concealed would be permitted. OC is also likely to attract attention. This forum is for discussion of OC, not for debating the pro's and con's or coordinating any type of protest events.

Open carry Bellbrook/Sugarcreek area

Post by dupree187 »

Just wondering if anyone has open carried around Bellbrook or Sugarcreek? Curious as to if they had any problems with police or citizens and also where. Thanks

Just if no one knows or is wondering, Bellbrook is just southeast of Dayton in Greene county

Earlier this year in the Sugarcreek area, Walnut Creek Cheese had a sign on a door stating no open carry. Didn't see a sign for concealed carry. That was the only place we had visited that had a sign.

I think you have the Sugarcreek areas confused. The Walnut Creek Cheese store is in the Amish Country. Two different Sugarcreeks. :D

To answer the original question, I personally have not seen anyone open carry in the area you are referring to. I conceal carry all of the time but that probably doesn't help. Sorry

Yeah forgot to mention. There are technically two "Sugarcreek" in Ohio. The one I'm talking about is Sugarcreek Twp just southeast of Dayton.

I live in Centerville and visit Bellbrook/Sugar Creek very often. I am always open carry. Never once has anyone said a word and that includes when I open carried two years in a row at the Maple Sugar festival. I plan to be there this weekend at the festival again, open carrying of course.

I live about 2 minutes from the center of town and was thinking about going to the festival this weekend. What day are you planning on being there? Maybe we could meet up.

Do you really want it all over the interwebs? :|

IMO,it's far better to use the PM function to share that with someone.
