anyone know about Clintonville?

Open Carry is carrying a firearm unconcealed in Ohio. OC does not require a concealed handgun license, but the practice requires intimate knowledge of the law since there are places and situations where OC is prohibited but carrying concealed would be permitted. OC is also likely to attract attention. This forum is for discussion of OC, not for debating the pro's and con's or coordinating any type of protest events.

anyone know about Clintonville?

Post by Bombarde32 »

Can anyone fill me in on what organization was holding an open carry walk in Clintonville (Columbus) this past weekend? My coworker said there were folks with rifles slung and carrying signs. It apparently caused quite a bit of Facebook outrage and calls to arrest the people walking around with guns. I tried to search for coverage, with no success.

I believe it was the Central Ohio chapter of Ohio Carry.

Those pictures aren't in Clintonville. That is Sharon Heights, just north of Beechwold. It is the corner of Fenway & High, just north of Graceland Shopping Center.

Ohio Carry had an OC walk at the TeeJayes restaurant at Morse & High streets Sunday early afternoon. Some of the HUG people may or may not have participated.

No, sorry, it was second hand information from a coworker and I don't have Facebook. I cannot cite specifics. He lives in Clintonville and is constantly trading jabs with the anti-gun crowd, who seems to account for most of the population there! I wonder what people would do if they woke up and realized that the fine folks at Gun Envy are right around the corner? Probably threaten to hug 'em.

Yep, I see the TeeJayes (formerly Jerry's Drive In) at Morse & High. The other picture of the Papa John's (and Pierce Bros) at Fenway & High paints the picture of a nice walk.

Yes, I do believe in open carry. An openly armed man is clear in his intentions. Concealed carriers are sneaks and skulkers and elitist, boot licking, political contribution making, running dog lackies of The Man. <wink> (thx grumpycoconut - OpenCarry.org)

The HUG meeting was elsewhere I don't think any of our group participated.

Central Ohio Carry (Ohio Carry Central Chapter) held the event. We had a great time. There were no signs. There were no negative encounters. ONE person hollered "guns kill", that was it. There were no issues that we were aware of. We did have police escort along our entire walk.

The walk did go into Clintonville. We walked south on High Street to Garden and back to TeeJayes. It was a nice 2 mile walk and the weather was GREAT!
