Kicked out of Books & co on fourth of July

Open Carry is carrying a firearm unconcealed in Ohio. OC does not require a concealed handgun license, but the practice requires intimate knowledge of the law since there are places and situations where OC is prohibited but carrying concealed would be permitted. OC is also likely to attract attention. This forum is for discussion of OC, not for debating the pro's and con's or coordinating any type of protest events.

Our government has identified classes of people they will protect, as well as designated those so-called protected classes. May not seem right, but that's the way it is...and...gun owners, in and of themselves, are not considered protected class members.

Damned straight! That's why we're learning to protect ourselves!

Update on this:
Contacted Books & Co.

They stated that this was a grievous error on their end as Books & Co. / Books a Million are supposed to welcome with open arms people who open carry and are licensed CCW.

The gentlemen that i spoke with informed me that he discussed (see yelled at) the store managers about this so that it never happens again. He said to me that as long as nobody was causing any actual harm and everything was legal by that states standards (might be paraphrasing a bit here) then the management should tell the people complaining that there is nothing they can do as we are legal and causing no problems.

He went on to talk to me about different guns and how he CCW's in Georgia and North Carolina where he manages the stores in that district. A really great guy.

I told him I was in no shape or form looking for a free handout i just wanted justice. He mailed me a $25 gift card to Books & Co. which i really appreciated.

According to a law made in 1953 in Ohio, no one can be arrested on the Fourth of July nor on a Sunday if they are on their way to or from a designated place of worship. In 1998, the Ohio Senate tried to repeal this law, but it failed to pass. Not only is the law still in effect today, it even further states that whoever arrests a person in violation of these provisions shall pay the person arrested $100, to be recovered by civil action. There are some exceptions to this law including: treason, the commission of a felony, and breach of the peace (including drunk driving).

Does anyone know if that link is referring to R.C. Chapter 2331, EXECUTION AGAINST THE PERSON http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2331 (under Title [23] XXIII COURTS - COMMON PLEAS)?
2331.11 Privilege from arrest http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2331.11 but probably 2331.12 Days on which arrests may not be made.http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/2331.12?

This stuff is only about debts (civil), right?
