Transporting across multiple state lines

Open Carry is carrying a firearm unconcealed in Ohio. OC does not require a concealed handgun license, but the practice requires intimate knowledge of the law since there are places and situations where OC is prohibited but carrying concealed would be permitted. OC is also likely to attract attention. This forum is for discussion of OC, not for debating the pro's and con's or coordinating any type of protest events.

If traveling by interstate, there's usually a "Welcome Center" within 5 miles of entering most states. I used those to unload/reload on a trip from Ohio to Mississippi, as Alabama doesn't honor the Ohio CHL and I don't have my Florida Nonresident license. Once unloaded I put it in a backpack in the trunk, and reloaded at the Welcome Centers in Mississippi and Tennessee.
