Specifically, the one at 4600 Paddock Road in Bond Hill posted a few months ago. I tried talking the manager/owner out of that, but he insisted it would make the place safer. Darn shame, one of the closest gas stations to my home.
Flash forward to last week, about 3am some bad guys hung out in the store until they saw a high end Lexus pull in for fuel. They ran outside and shot the car's owner in the face, killing him. Then they must have panicked, and fled. This story was on the news, I can't vouch for all details but it was murder, and the criminals ignored the "No Guns" sign.

So I waited a day and stopped in to chat up the owner. He remembered me and wasn't cordial about telling me to leave. So, I exited while pointing and laughing at him like Nelson Muntz from "The Simpson's".

"Ha ha, you had a murder here. I told you so! Ha ha!"

He knew he was wrong and hated like heck to admit it, especially to the person who pointed it out ahead of time and could possibly have prevented a murder.

Ask him next time what it feels like to be an enabler to a murder. Almost like being an accomplice, huh?

I won't ever patronize the place until he takes down the sign. His only real concern right now is the beer cave addition he's putting on the building.

Plenty of other gas stations for me to spend money at. It's not like I come and go from home with the car down to an almost empty fuel tank.

I used to manage the Porter store over on Reading, and do volunteer work on a monthly basis for PWC right next door to VP.

It's a shame it had to come down to murder for him to get a lesson. Also too bad he won't learn from it.

I need to talk to one of the cops I know who works in that district. This homicide doesn't seem to be the usual "drug deal gone bad" or "drug gang rivals clash" or "guy shouldn't have stiffed his drug dealer" thing. What bothers me is that the assailants are still running loose someplace, likely not all that far away from my neighborhood. (It's amazing to me how people being sought for a murder don't even try to get out of town. One that was running loose for several months after the fact, never got more than like five miles from the scene of the crime. Lots of people knew who he was, and where he'd been seen. Nobody talked.)

I'm sure they have a FB page...maybe somebody should light THAT page up with some comments about their no gun policy after what just happened.
I'm sure they would just love the publicity.

The corporation has a Facebook page, yes. No idea if the signs are chain-wide. Don't care enough to dig into it, honestly.
