And it is about to get more complicated starting in late March next year when Sub SB 199 takes effect.Brian D. wrote:You've asked a very broad question that will take quite a bit of time to answer in detail. Lots of variables as to potential penalties:
-Where were you?
-Was the place "conspicuously" posted? If not, was it required to be by law, or not?
-When caught, were you asked to leave? Did you? If not, did the police respond? What happened next?
There's lots more to it than that. When time allows, read through these forums, your questions come up a bunch.
I don't know about Columbus Commons but others here have posted about that city "giving away" some park areas to various corporate entities. Funny though, the same folks reported that maintenance, trash pickup, etc. was still being done by municipal employees. It comes across as legal and liability buck-passing to me.JustaShooter wrote:fabulouslife, carrying into posted businesses is Criminal Trespass, an M4. No loss of license, a maximum of 30 days in jail and fines up to $250.
BTW, this "Columbus Commons", the park in the middle of downtown Columbus : is it city owned? If so, Ohio law says it can't be posted. Can you provide any more information about it, picturs of signage, etc?
