Yes, been there numerous times. I've yet to find any of the casinos in Ohio not posted.

Figured as much. I'm not a gambler so I thought I would ask to be sure.

Back when gambling was being debated, I seem to recall the anti- folks insisting that a requirement that they were CPZ's go into law or they would mount the forces to defeat the amendment. Did that happen (either in O.R.C. or O.A.C.) ? They may not be statutorily designated CPZ's, but is it some requirement of their license ?

I've heard it's required of the license, but if so, that wouldn't be 9.68 compliant. I have a feeling they are just posted because they can be. I've yet to see a casino outside of Las Vegas that is not posted and I've been to quite a few in many different states.

If you consider $40 + dinner at the cafes when I go a high roller then sure. I take $40, push the spin button X times depending on the denomination, and walk with whatever I have left. So 40 cents per spin will get me 100 spins. If I'm with a group I'll take more.

I stay away from table games anymore. Too hard to count cards since most are using 8 deck shoes with randomizers that tell them when they get a new 8 deck shoe. Vegas is about the only place I'll do table games and it's getting much harder there. I'd love to do craps, but I don't understand all the different games one can play and just watching confuses the heck of me.

OAC 3772-20-01 (D)
(D) Except for the following persons, no casino operator licensee or applicant shall permit firearms at a casino facility, as defined in division (C) of section 3772.01 of the Revised Code:
(1) Commission gaming agents;
(2) Law enforcement officers, as defined in sections 9.88 , 109.71 and 2901.01 of the Revised Code, who are on duty and within their jurisdiction;
(3) Law enforcement officers who are hired by a casino operator licensee or applicant for special duty as long as the officers are not specifically involved in gaming related regulatory functions; and
(4) Security guard providers, as defined by section 4749.01 of the Revised Code, who:
(a) Are not employed by the casino operator licensee or applicant;
(b) Are licensed under section 4749.03 of the Revised Code;
(c) Meet the requirements in section 4749.10 of the Revised Code; and
(d) Work for and are on duty with an armored motor vehicle security service licensed under section 4749.03 of the Revised Code.
They claim that state law ORC 3772.03 gives them the authority to make the rule, so I think they'd argue that 9.68 doesn't apply. Challenging this in court might be a bit tricky because I'm inclined to think that only the casinos would have standing since the rule is carefully worded to direct the prohibition at the casino licensee not Bob the random citizen.

What is interesting is that there is no sign at the track entrance... And I'll never admit to seeing a sign anywhere else on a public forum.

I was getting my truck serviced in Northfield today and I decided to walk up to the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park (a slots gambling facility in Northfield ... roughly between Cleveland and Akron). In the parking lot I realized there might be a problem so I did a search on my phone and I found this thread. After reading this thread I checked the first set of doors and I did not see a GB sign. I decided to enter the first set of doors ready to grab my phone and do a u-turn if I saw a GB sign on the second set of doors, but there was none. The Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park is not posted. I was able to view the North and South entrances :) .

I believe there is language in the ORC regarding casinos/racinos requiring them to be gun free zones, as a requirement of being licensed by the Ohio Gaming Commission. What is specifically mandatory signage-wise I don't recall.

Racinos aren't licensed by the Ohio Casino Comission, they're actually regulated by the Lottery Comission. Two separate entities, with two different rule sets.

I know for sure the Casino Control prohibits firearms on premises and is a state law. Probably for the best, a lot of good law abiding people get really emotional and have a tough time with loosing money. If they were allowed to carry things could only go from bad to worse for them.

Unfortunately it doesn't stop the criminal at all like always. I know the few casinos I've been to I stay away from at night especially the craps table areas.
