Positive Outback Steakhouse Experience

Post by Javelin Man »

My wife and I headed to Findlay for an enjoyable evening without the girls in tow and were looking to use a giftcard for Outback Steakhouse. I was pleasantly surprised to find no evil signs on the door telling me to keep my iron in the car. So put Outback Steakhouse on the GOOD list. :D

Also on the GOOD list, it was one of the best ribeye steaks I've ever eaten! Thank goodness Man is near the top of the foodchain and also that I'm not all Paul McCartney about it. My steak was cooked over the wood-burning grill and I can see why top backyard chefs use charcoal and mesquite instead of gas. :)

We stopped at Biggby coffee shop on the east end of town and enjoyed a fine latte for the trip home. 8)

Can I suggest you edit your original post to change the thread title? As it stands right now, someone could be simply scanning the list of messages and reach the opposite conclusion. I changed the title in my post as a suggestion.

^---- +1 to what Bob said. I've come close to heart attacks at least a half dozen times in the past week scanning for new topics and finding my favorite places listed. It's only when I drill into them that I see that it's not a report of new signs.

Personally I'd like to see these sunshine reports discouraged or prohibited since this particular forum is for "...the discussion of organizations that have declared their intent to cater to society's criminal element by prohibiting the legal carry of firearms on their premises." Obviously a non-posted establishment is not such an organization.

No offense to you Javelin Man, your particular post just happens to be a convenient target at the moment :D. My ire over these kinds of threads in the CPZ forum has been building over time but the last week has been particularly obnoxious.

I've been targeted!

Normally I wouldn't bother writing about an establishment not posting, but the steak was so good I told the waitress we were about to send the chicken back to the kitchen and order two more steaks. :D Since I was talking about the steaks Down Under, I figured I might as well mention the doors being void of extra stickers. Sorry I don't have a MS Paint diagram like Evan....

Negative Outback Steakhouse Experience

Post by kcclark »

My wife's favorite restaurant is Outback. One of her Christmas presents from me was a couple gift cards for Outback. Used one of them last month. Was extremely disappointed to find the location on Bethel Road in Columbus is now posted. Don't remember what the sign said. Was not the usual GB.

Today I got to read about how an Outback kicked out a uniformed officer. 'Ward wrote that a customer seated nearby was “scared for her life” because “police are shooting people” and demanded “to be escorted to her vehicle out of fear of being shot.”'

I don't know when Outback went wimpy. Could have been change of ownership group, legal firm used, insurance underwriter used, new CEO with an anti gun outlook, etc. I'd say any of those are more likely culprits than some spate of problems with law abiding, legally carrying customers.

And, that irate woman who was "scared for her life" because she saw a holstered handgun carried by a uniformed LEO? She needs to seek psychiatric help, as soon as possible.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

We went to dinner at Outback in December. I don't recall seeing any signs, but I didn't look closely since we've eaten there many times in the past. Too bad. Just joined Dining Rewards which includes Outback and Bonefish Grill which in the past have been two of our favorite places to eat. Guess I'll have to find new favorites.

I was in the local Outback a couple months ago. No signs....

Gotta go look if I can ever get my car chipped out of the driveway :D....

One thing I did notice about a week ago. I had to go INSIDE the bank I've been using. They always had little gunbuster signs on the main entrance, but they were in the "what sign" mode. I ignored them 'cause I was almost never inside anyway, and did almost all of my banking on the web.

They remodeled the interior a bit ago, and I had to go inside. Figured I'd just ignore the sign as usual, but NO SIGN!

Somebody may have forgotten, or decided to use some common sense.

These signs were never visible from outside unless you knew exactly where to look.

I wasn't here, I didn't say this  .

Stu.

Just drove by the Outback in Kenwood on Montgomery Road next to the Red Lobster and I didn't see any signs on the doors.

Well we went to the Outback on Bethal Rd in Columbus and they had a homemade typed sign saying No Firearm Allowed. As it was our anniversary I did not want to make an issue of it but I am planning on sending them an email.
