Valero is a US-based company that is not affiliated with Citgo, the Chavez/Venezuelan-owned enterprise.

This brings a recent conversation to mind:

I bought some Valero gas on the Ohio Turnpike. Normally my van will get 24-25 MPG on the Turnpike. With the Valero gasoline it only got an even 20 MPG. Is Valero 'bad' or 'cheap' gas?

Uh, no. I am no supporter of Hugo but you are confusing the issue since many Citgo's changed over to Valero not that long ago.

This store changed hands once or twice since the last post. It is now called "Food and Gas Mart". I have not checked to see if it is posted.
