Does anybody have any experience with Lorain County? I can't get an appointment in Medina before my CHL expires.

My first one was from Lorain then did the Cuyahoga on my 2015 renewal. I wish i went back to Lorain. It took my lawyer telling Cuyahoga sheriffs office to produce my CHL or else.

I read your post when you first put it up Wednesday. How they treated you is BS. I've always used Clermont County, since my first license in 2004. Back then, and again in 2008 and 2013, took about a week each, tops. All under a sheriff known to be pro-gun. This year's renewal, under a different sheriff, but processed by the same staffer behind the counter all these years, took 42 days.

We may need enforcement teeth in that part of the ORC almost as much as we do with ORC 9.68.
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

She said " that will be $ 50.00...she said nothing about the $1.95....It might be a fee for credit card usage or who knows what..

If you paid by credit card that's probably it.
Here in my county of Virginia if I pay my semi-annual property tax by credit card they tack on an extra $3 (IIRC).
Due to that I write two actual checks a year and use two first class stamps.

IIRC I have used Cuyahoga, Medina, Loran and Lake since 2004 and Lake was the best experience but Lorain has been the fastest. They even hustled to get mine renewed just in time for expiry.

I thought I remembered Lake issued renewals on the spot?

So, how long before expiration were you?

I know Summit County - my money is on just filing the application and walking out empty-handed.

I am glad that I live in Warren county.

Completed on the spot and I had it with me when I walked out the door.
