How long is a training certificate valid for

First renewal all you need is your CHL

Second renewal you will need a range competency certificate

Third renewal is not specified. Probably have another change in the laws by then.

I was at an AG conference last year and the lawyer from the AG's office said as much. It's currently undefined. He pretty much called the General Assembly out for making the process up as they go along. Imagine if we "tweaked" the rules for renewing a driver license every four years.

This is a sure sign of a ill defined process that's intent is to infringe.

Let's say Joe passes his courses and he gets his Certificate today. How long does he have to go to the Sheriff's and get the printing and application completed?

Three years.

And the laws have changed since this thread was originally started. Renewals do NOT require any re-certification.
