I was at an AG conference last year and the lawyer from the AG's office said as much. It's currently undefined. He pretty much called the General Assembly out for making the process up as they go along. Let's say Joe passes his courses and he gets his Certificate today. How long does he have to go to the Sheriff's and get the printing and application completed?

And the laws have changed since this thread was originally started. Renewals do NOT require any re-certification.
