CC in Clermont County parks?
Does anyone know if it is legal to conceal carry in Clermont County parks. A quick check of their rules and regs board at Pattison Park in Owensville forbids firearms except law enforcement, in addition to bb/pellet guns, bows/crossbows etc. It is dated 2003 so it was before the CC law was passed in Ohio, does the CC law trump the county ordinance? Any info would be appreciated.

HB12, authorizing concealed carry, is a state law. Thus it supercedes all local laws. The pending suit in Clyde will do much to clear up this issue.

Pre-CCW
You will find these Pre-CCW "No Firearms Allowed" signs in a lot of the small township and county parks. They were there in an attempt to control target practice and shooting of birds and other small game. There is no incentive for there removal. To us with CHL they cannot be backed by law. I ignore them when carrying concealed. FYI, the Clermont County Sheriff is very pro CCW, I doubt you would have any problem from the sheriff's deputies.

Tom and Cruiser are right. Most of the time these rules are left over from pre CCW days and just have not been removed. If you have a CHL you can carry in state or local parks as long as you do not enter any buildings. Remember that concealed means concealed, that should stop any problems with people who do not know the law hassling you.
