I dunno.... last time I went it really was a waste of time and money. The layout is horrific, tons of really old crap. But it is always good to support these things lest they go away so I'll go for that reason only.

Gun shows are the worst place to buy a gun.

That's kinda broad I know.

Seriously, how many bargains do you find at a gun show.....from the vendors I mean, not a deal with another visitor?

About the only thing I ever thought was a bargain at gun shows were the non-gun items like ammo, cleaning stuff, accessories and so on.

Anyone else feel that way?

Ammo, targets, and magazines are what I'm typically after.

They can be good if you want to trade, but I keep what I buy so that never worked for me.

I used to go to a big show up in Cleveland. While there, I bought a sino-soviet SKS.....not a norinco.....for 89 bucks. I thought that was a steal. I also bought an air rifle that was a chinese sks training rifle for about 40 bucks if memory serves me. At the same show, another visit, I bought a smitty model 10 police trade for a hundred bucks and I thought that was a good deal. It seemed like you could find some deals at that show.

I've never cared for the pro gun shows and I have never seen a bargain at one for guns.

you are right, there are not very many deals (looking for P22 for my wife) and the price was basically the same as the gun store, however they do have some original "stuff"...

I'll probably stop in Sunday morning.
I have bought some nice firearms through the years at gunshows. I bought a never fired Norinco SKS a few years back for $79.00. Last year I bought a Yugo Mauser M48 BO brand new condition for $150.00.
I've been happy with most of my other gun show purchases

I don't know where you live, but if driving to Hebron Ohio isn't too far give us a look at Buckeye Outdoors. I've only worked there for a couple months, but I have shopped there for over ten years. It is very hard to beat their/our prices on most firearms. About all I was ever able to do was get stuff on my C&R at wholesale, or drive to AIM in middleton and buy their stuff over the counter for wholesale price. It's not an official policy, but our manager will do everything he can to match an advertised price from competitors.

Unlike a lot of the mom and pop gun stores that have been the usual for many years, we try to be professionals. I'll show you anything in the case, and you can handle (fondle) it all you want. If you have questions I can't answer I'll find out for you. Everybody in the gun dept is a specialist in his own little corner of the gun hobby.

I don't know exactly how many guns we have on display, but it's a bunch. The pistol cases go for about thirty feet I'll guesstimate, and behind them are racks of long guns.

The Cuyahoga County Commissioners sure invested a pretty penny in those "Firearms Prohibited" signs, particularly the underscoring of the prohibition applying to CCW license holders.

That is absolutely ludicrous. EVERYBODY brings guns to a gun show......that's what a gun show is by definition.

Yes, they were obviously targeting CHL holders. When are they gonna learn we are the LEAST of their worries?

Exactly why I now pay a little more for my ammo and buy it from places that don't resent my CHL.
