PITP 7 -> SAVE THE DATE: 7/31/2010

Postby dan dan the XD40 man » Sun Apr 11, 2010 5:45 pm

It's getting close to what has traditionally been the "Party In The Park" time of year. Just wondering if PITP 7 will be occurring this year, and if so, when to start looking for dates/times/etc...

Thanks!

Let's get past all the little stuff this week--Statehouse hearing, Mystery-Location Open Carry Event, PNC/NCB dustup, and the D.C. 2nd Amendment march--before haranguing OFCC Top Brass about the Picnic, eh? (And this from me, a guy who so loves to breathe down their necks! )
Quit worrying, hide your gun well, shut up, and CARRY that handgun!

I've been biting my tongue to keep from saying that I hope as many people show up for the PITP7 as showed up for the Columbus TAM.

OFCC keeps growing but the PITP attendance seems to stay the same year after year even with some quite notable guest speakers.

Well, you can add at least one more as I plan on being there for my first time this year.

I thought I saw an article the other day that said PITP was set for July 31. If so, I'll miss it, that is the start of the rifle competition at the National Matches at Camp Perry. I'm registered for SAFS and EIC match on July 31 and Aug 1, President's Match on Aug 2 and Individual on Aug 3. That's my vacation this year.

CRAP - I live in Columbus and will be at the Lake that day for a Golf outing. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have won a gun anyway.

It will be held at Liberty Park in Liberty Township (Powell). Sorry - I could have posted that. For those of you who can't make this date, the reason we have not picked a date yet is because we've been haggling over which date made the most sense, and as Brian pointed out, there is quite a lot going on. April is killing me. :)

We figured July 3rd might have been relevant in Liberty park, but attendance would have been low. I myself will be flying back into town on July 2nd and have a four year old, so I wouldn't have made it :)

We struggle every year with what dates that the park has available make the most sense. Before the debate comes up, I will answer the question. Another venue was considered this year - actually I think we considered two. The venue we looked at was within the general area of Liberty Park, included an indoor structure, and had a Class D license (which we believe we could have negated by not serving).

We had to buy food from them as opposed to hiring the burgers 'n dogs company we've used successfully for the past few years. Anyway, if anyone knows a manufacturer itching to give away a firearm to a worthy cause, let us know. We have a few of the coordinators chasing down door prizes :)

Yep -- major crapola. I'll be at Camp Perry on that date. :(

Big time bummer. PITP last year was when/where I elected to join this fine organization.
I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Yep, the start of High Power competition is the last weekend of July, no PITP for me either. Maybe I'll see you at Perry.

I'll be there for rifle SAFS, not competing in the matches. If I remember, I will send a PM the week of, so we can get a heads-up and know who to say "hi" to!

Looks like my wife works all day on the 31st of July so unless her schedule changes I won't be there either. Sorry. :(
