I'm going to have to make it to a few of those, I get two Thursday evening off every four weeks (shiftwork) so I'll have to bounce my schedule against your calendar to see what sticks!

It was very interesting at the last shoot.

Darkness fell upon us early and we got to shoot in low light conditions. Muzzle flash was not as much an issue as I would have thought. :?

They always seem to happen when I'm working afternoons. I need to talk to someone from the gov't about this whole calendar thing.

Just a quick report.....

I actually had 10 (including myself) nut jobs, I mean shooting activists come out and freeze their butts of with me on Thursday eve. A couple Forum members to boot! 8)

Had a few flurries come and go and the wind did kick in from time to time, but everyone survived.

There was this one guy who stuck his tongue on the flag pole though... :?

Jake, yes, quite glad I wore a full body suit of long johns.

But I also just want to say thank you for continuing to hold these, even in the formidable weather. I don't see why more people don't take advantage of it either. How often do you get the chance to practice shooting in conditions of snow, blowing wind, from heavy concealment (winter jackets), using gloves and/or having quite cold hands. It really is an experience. I've never ran across any other club (without having to drive across the state) that sets up targets and runs scenarios outdoors. So thanks.

As a side note, on the drive home to Akron, a lot of the time I could not see more than 15 feet in front of me due to the wind/snow gusts. Crazy.

See you guys next month so long as the roads are ok on that particular day. Maybe we can throw snowballs at the shooter as distractions. Can give them a -1 second on their score for every time they are hit, hehe.

I'll be free on the 12th. Then starting on the 25th, it looks like I'll have Thursdays free for the next few months.

If I leave Brecksville at 5:30pm, would I be able to make it to Salem before dark?

Ben:

No more than 90 minutes for a guess.... I can be at Cedar & Green from my place (maybe 20 miles closer to you than Salem) in a bit less than that, but Brecksville is a tad closer to me.

Jake probably can give better directions, but I'd take the Turnpike to Austintown (I-80 East), and then South on Ohio 11. You can grab US 62 in Canfield (get off 11 at US 224). Probably a better way to do it, but the brain's on hold. There's a "bypass" on US 62 just outside of Salem - I'm not sure you want to take that.

Until you get off 11, good roads all around. (Ohio 11 is a four-lane of the "freeway" genre.)

Regards,
Stu.
