free training is always a win. I had to really crank up the range on the search to find an Ohio class right now, they all seem to be a bit south of me.. I'll keep checking back for something a little closer than 140 miles though..

was listening to an interview the other day and the guy stated that people with training were more successful in a trauma situation improvising, than people with the proper equipment and no training. So training and proper equipment for the win.

According to Baker, a coordinator at Northern Ohio Trauma System EMS, it’s not about the tools that can save a person’s life, it’s about the will to do so.

"You don't need sterile dressings, you don't need tourniquets, you need the knowledge to act," Baker said.

Sometimes something as simple as a drawstring from a pair of pants might do the trick, and that’s something Lee learned firsthand.

Lee says everyone should take the class, because it's not if you will use these skills, it’s just a matter of when.
