NRA Instructor Training

Post by Castle »

A couple of the NRA Certified Instructors at our club would like to become certified to teach the Personal Protection course.

Anyone know of (or is) a Training Counselor who is conducting a course in PP?

When, where and who?

Central Ohio (Columbus or thereabouts) works best for these guys.

Thanks!

Check the NRA's or PRO's site. Both list instructor training from time to time.

There just don't seem to be a lot of TCs interested in conducting Personal Protection training. Perhaps it's the lack of demand or the liability issue.

I'm not sure why the guys I know expect me to find them a TC... you'd think they could do this themselves. :?

Well there are those that talk about, & those who do it.
It is sort of like the CHL training a whole lot of people get a A+ in waiting, just talking about it, Then there are those that just got it done. & I have had them come from 100 miles away for CHL classes.

Please give a shout the next time you plan on offering the course.

OFCC also has a handful of Training Counselors who can put together specialized classes if there is enough interest. If you're interested, drop me a PM.

Contrary to a popular belief when I brag about OFCC accomplishments I'm not looking for your thank you or personal recognition. I'd much prefer you send me an email telling me when you are going to get involved in doing what I've been doing since 1999. We are only as effective as we make ourselves. We need the next generation of OFCC to step to the plate.

Is that you?

How much time do these courses take? And what days are they generally offered? I might like to get some training of this sort, but my weekends are usually booked solid.

Basic Instructor is a 6 hr course
Pistol is another 12, HFS is 5, PP is 9, Rifle is 12
Most of the time they are on weekends, sometimes I set them up on weekdays, or evenings.
I can do one on one, but the classes really are better with 3 or 4 people.
Give some ideas on times days etc that would work & we could set something up
If there is interest enough I can even bring the course to you.

Mad Duck,

Personally, weekends would be best for me as I'm generally available then.
