posting pic - question

This is where you can talk about all equipment issues; firearms, ammunition, magazines, care & repair, holsters, gun cases, etc.

posting pic - question

Post by docachna »

Wanted to post a pic of a little WWI pistol of my wife's GF, for some idea of manufacturer, etc. The "Img" button here will not let me insert a pic, only lets me list the URL to the pic at some external server. Is there a way for me to be given permission to upload a local pic into my posting ??

Thanks in advance, mods.

The only way I know is to upload the pic to something like instagram or imgur and use the URL as you described. There is no way to upload it to the OFCC forum server currently, and I don't even know if it is an option that can be added.

Couldn't delete my original post; I THINK I figured out how to post pics on Dropbox.

Here's the link:

https://www.dropbox.com/home/22_pistol

Somebody please let me know if this does NOT work. Edited the link. The end reads "22 (space) pistol" in the browser address bar when I'm looking at the folder in Dropbox.

This little thing was supposedly owned by my wife's grandfather, who fought in WW I. I've seen some Webleys that somewhat resemble this around the trigger guard area, but nobody I've encountered here in Nashville seems to recognize this thing at all. The "U.S." grips would seem to indicate a service weapon, but I suppose not necessarily. There is a serial number underneath the grips. No visible marks anywhere else. Looks like it chambers .22 shorts, according to a couple of different gun stores I've taken it to.

Sure would appreciate anybody that can shed some light on this pistol for me.

TIA !!!! :)

I have a free account with imgur.com and use it for all my image posts or shares online and have for years.

Thanks for all the advice. Imgur seems to put photos on it's site for all to see. How do you get it so that doesn't happen?

Not sure if it is possible - I've never seen an option to do so.

Just finished looking at my account on Imgur and found that your albums can be set to:
Public: anyone can see,
Private: anyone with link can see,
Secret: must be signed in to your account to see.

Hope that helps.

So I never add my images to albums - does that mean you have to have a link or can you see my images without a link? I'm justashooter there too, maybe take a look and let me know?

I searched for
user: justashooter
and got your profile but not much else. (You signed up there on July 21, 2015.)

I don't know much more than that about how to figure it out.
I am JiminToledo on there if you want to try it and see.
