I've recently discovered writings by Greg Ellifritz, and he wrote an article about it recently.

http://www.activeresponsetraining.net/p ... -to-use-it" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Some resources he suggested looking at:
http://concealednation.org/2017/02/pepp ... ough-guys/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://godgalsgunsgrub.blogspot.com/201 ... -your.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

His two recommendations:
Keychain:
https://www.amazon.com/SABRE-RED-Spitfi ... 0972441e37" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Other:
https://www.amazon.com/ASP-Street-Defen ... e23ad55603" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've played around with it and used it/was sprayed by this not too long ago when I was a augmentee for security forces at WPAFB - it sucks, but you can absolutely work through it if you're determined/know it's coming.

The time I used it prior to that was on a squirrel that was playing havoc on our trash cans - it really just {inappropriate language} off the squirrel and succeeded in doing nothing else. It was one of the ones I bought at a parts store. I'd recommend reading the links about what's effective/minimum ratings and what to look for. I'd also ask your wife if she wants it - forcing things on people, regardless of intent, rarely has the desired actions.

You Tube!!! All kinds of tests. I got my girlfriend one of the kimber ones. Easier to make sure it's pointed in the right direction. Point and shoot.

Thanks to all who replied. Very informative, the kimbler looks interesting but might not be right for her as it looks too much like a gun.

If the ASPCA hears about that you may have been better off testing it on your kids :(

No kids of mine to test on - and the squirrel also charged my friend's mother when she was holding a 6 month old prior to this incident. Discharging a firearm in city limits wasn't on my list of 'sounds like fun today' items.

Jeep -- fantastic link, excellent write-up and thanks for sharing it!
I like to swap brass... and I'm looking for .32 H&R Mag, .327 Fed Mag, .380 Auto and 10mm. If you have some and would like to swap for something else, send me a note!

Those town tree rats must be a lot more aggressive than the ones we have around our house and in the dutch oven.

My late father-in-law had one that was almost a pet. He made the mistake of giving it oatmeal cookies and it would come and sit by him while he was sitting on the back porch, waiting for a cookie. It used to scare guests as it would run up to them when they came out into the back yard.

They might be good to have for pets. Sometimes they can scare off more than mere guests. :)
