Belt Stitching Opinion

Post by HancockCountyHAl »

Without regard for the difference in belt width, which belt would you prefer? The one with course or fine stitching? And why?

Thanks for your opinion.

I would take the fine stitching because it looks more classy.

With slacks... the fine stitching.
With jeans... the course stitching.

Coarse stitching leaves more leather intact.

I am of the opinion that this would make the belt more durable and last longer, given the same amount of wear/abuse between the two.

I was thinking the same thing, but I do think the tight stitching looks better. What say our leathersmiths? Does tight stitching weaken the belt?

The course one is a lock stitch, very durable. The finer stitch looks like a chain stitch, if so if it breaks from a snag or something it will pull loose.
I like the course stitch,
