Re: How about some pics
Figured I should post a pic or two...
Here is my current favorite AR, my goal was to make the shortest possible AR without straying into SBR territory. LWRCI buttstock and 13.7" Rainer barrel with a pinned YHM .30 QD flash hider make a nice compact package.
Here she is next to a "standard" AR with a 16" barrel, A2 flash hider and Magpul CTR stock.
Here's a picture of the XDm where I was trying to get creative with lighting... I know I'm not an artist.

Thanks!Thawmytongue wrote:Breitling, nice guns and nice glass. Never even heard of that Windrunner. Off to the googles...
The Windrunner is not a well known gun though they have been around (I think) for about 20 years. Bill Ritchie (owner) is a wonderful guy who has been into long range high caliber mile+ shooting for a long time and EDM was his opus. EDM might be more well-recognized in the movie Shooter (Mark Wahlburg). The gun in the movie (Cheytac M200) was originally designed by EDM with some minor modifications to suit what Cheytac wanted. The EDM Windrunner M96 was also manufactured with Remington markings and known as the "R50". Only a dozen of those guns were made as the project faltered. Most recently (now that the Cheytac M200 is discontinued) another company THOR has licensed the action/take-down design from EDM and begun making a gun similar to the Cheytac. It is chambered in 408.
Anyhow, here's a pic from this weekend to bump the thread!

Is that a NEA CCS or a MVB compact stock? When I was planning my 13.7" non-SBR, I thought about the NEA but wasn't too keen on the proprietary BCG, so I went with the LWRCI compact. Right after I built it, I saw the MVB using a stock BCG...doh!Breitling wrote:Thanks!Thawmytongue wrote:Breitling, nice guns and nice glass. Never even heard of that Windrunner. Off to the googles...

ETA - After my initial post I was admiring the picture again and I noticed the sear pin on the top AR. You wanna adopt a son?

That is an NEA CCS. I like it. It runs well (most of the time) but I don't clean it. It actually stopped running after about 1500 rounds... so I had to clean it!Thawmytongue wrote:

Nowhere near as exotic, but they do go "bang" every time I ask them to.
