What have you bought (firearm related) in the last 48 hrs?

This is where you can talk about all equipment issues; firearms, ammunition, magazines, care & repair, holsters, gun cases, etc.

Not all in the last 2 days, but I finally finished up the Remington 700 Project I've been slowly piecing together over the last couple years.

Previously posted:
------------------------
Remington 700 SPS in .308
Criterion Barrel 22" 1:10
Had barrel threaded for Muzzle device
Silencerco ASR Muzzlebrake/Suppressor mount.
Choate Stock
Pacific tool and Gauge Bottom Metal for detachable magazines
AICS / Magpul Mags
Timney Calvin Elite trigger
Sig Sauer TANGO 6 4-24x50 Scope
Pelican 1750 Rifle Case

Finished up over the holidays:
-----------------------------------------------
Sent out the Stainless Barrel, barrel nut, and recoil lug for Nitriding.
Seekins Precision 30 MOA scope mount
A scope ring lapping kit
34 MM Seekins Precision rings
Vortex Defender Flip Caps for eyepiece and objective

Purchased a plank of closed cell 2# PE foam for the Pelican case. ( Why do Pelican and other manufacturers put Open cell foam in rifle cases ? )
Built a Hotwire table to cut the foam.
Cut the foam for the rifle and accessories. with space for Rifle, Bolt, Magazines, ammo, Kestrel, Range Finder, and Suppressor. )
Very happy with the final outcome.

Now I'm trying to decide what to do with all the leftover parts. just short a receiver at this point to put the SPS back together.

Picked up a Bond Arms 45LC/.410 with 3 inch barrel today at the gun show at the Bowling Green fairgrounds. No particular reason. Just cause.

How is that show? I know it's a broad question, just wondering about size, FFL vendor numbers vs. private sale tables, is there food and a place to sit down with it? And whatever else you care to add.

Not a large show. It was in a room that was really too large for the show so tables were widely spaced which was nice. Saw the whole show and made a couple purchases and was out in about two hours. I think this was the first time for this show at this location and In all fairness I don't think it was very widely advertised although I did meet some people from Port Clinton and from Lima. I'm local to it and I learned about it from the fairgrounds marque. I don't know about ffl's vs. private parties. AR parts and accessories seemed to be the majority of offerings. There was a kitchen right off the sales floor with some activity going on there but I didn't see anything served. It was about 11:30 when I left. There was some seating but limited.

Bought a Gen 5 Glock 19 yesterday. Low miles used, with the Ameriglo Pro night sights. Point Blank did a 10% off deal on their used and clearance guns over the weekend. Sometimes* that translates to a pretty decent deal.

*Pay attention, because sometimes they raise the "every day" price during these sales before applying the discount, especially with new guns.

Not a firearm, but firearm related: I've ordered AS Val magazine pouches for my plate carrier. Of course, I don't have a Val, but it's the closest thing to AR-15 or PTR-91 mag pouches you can get from Russian manufacturers. And since I want to run a PTR-91 with a rig in Russian camouflage (Their "Flora" pattern works like a charm in green wooded areas), I don't have much of a choice...

Replaced the Ruger extractor in my 10/22 with one from Volquartsen. It’s a completely different gun now. Much more fun to shoot when it’s not constantly jamming and mis feeding.

MORE AMMO !

Function testing 22lr in the Taurus TX-22 I purchased.

After 750 rounds of various manufacturers:
  • 100 rds of CCI Mini Mags worked as I expected them to do.
  • 250 rds of Blazer, also no problems.
  • 300 rds of Federal blue box in bulk had 3 or 4 stove pipes during the 250 rds shot.
  • 100 rds of CCI Copper 22 ran wonderfully. (And at the price for them I'd hope so.)
Next up some Aquila 40gr Super Extra.

I might eventually try some Remington 22lr ammo, however the last time I used any was several years ago during "the drought". I had a failure rate of 20 % in a box of their bulk ammunition. Soured me on the brand.

Picked up this PSA AK-V9. I've got an MRO that'll fit right on top.
