I like the old school choice there, the pre-357Sig fast 9mm round from the 30's.

A Smith & Wesson 9mm magazine for the full size M&P.

(Brace for a Stu-type story.)

When the gun first came out years ago, spare OEM mags were scarce to non-existent. But Pro Mag glutted the stores with good looking copies, at half the price. I bought one and it worked fine. So, I got reckless and bought two more. Both those conked out quickly, so they got pitched.

Flash forward to now and I stumble across that first Pro Mag. It still works but it's like a large breed dog that's 15 years old; you know it's on its last legs. So, I bought a brand new OEM to replace it.

Taurus PT1911,

My first 1911. 100 rounds in I am enjoying it, although it's like trying to conceal a refrigerator

S&W 9mm Pro Series M&P. Previous owner added Tru Glo tritium/fiber optic sights. This one has a GOOD trigger.

Had a k frame and liked it, but wasn’t quite ‘it’ - j frames were too small for how I typically use revolvers.

Stumbled into this trade - a Ruger 05745 SP101- 3 inch 22lr with actual sights.

Smaller than a k, bigger than a j, and cheap to shoot. I’m thoroughly enjoying it more than the smith options, and if I can find a 38/367/9 SP101 with a rear sight this would prove to be a lovely training/carry setup.

Jeep, I think Ruger has done runs of the 3" centerfire SP-101 with "actual sights", as you call them.
